CONSERVATION MANAGEMENT PLANS

A heritage assessment substantiates the cultural significance and a conservation policy sets out appropriate recommendations enabling that significance of the place to be retained within future use and development.

HERITAGE ASSESSMENTS

Heritage assessments are undertaken in compliance with State Heritage Office requirements and within the guidelines of the Australia, ICOMOS Burra Charter, which defines the basic principles and procedures to be followed in the conservation of Australian heritage places.

CONSERVATION MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES (CMS)

A State Registered place already has its significance substantiated, so aside from a summary of that, the conservation policy can be developed into the strategies for the conservation of a place, and funded as for Conservation Management plan opportunities.

A Heritage Strategy assists a local government to meet its heritage obligations and provides a framework to identify the extent of cultural heritage assets and strategic actions.

CONSERVATION WORKS

Heritage Impact Statements provide a summary of the significance of a place and the impact that a proposed development is considered to affect that significance.

EXPERT WITNESS

Assisting owners as an expert witness on heritage matters, in their appeals to State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) regarding local government decisions, and, or, working with planning consultants to provide the heritage expertise to relevant planning appeals, is a successful discipline of Heritage Intelligence (WA).
